I'm shocked that a sports talk host takes the opposite view of the mob. Shocked I say.

Once the Ump tossed Eiland he had no business holding up his hand to Yost like he was some God and telling him to stay in the dugout. You toss a pitching coach then the manager is going to come out and ask you why you did it. And if I am reading the Ump's lips correctly, the first thing he said to Yost was "I told you to stay there..." or words to that effect.

Reminds me of when the Ump got all up in Kendall's face while Kendall was still in his crouch. That's minor league bullshit. The Umpires did a horrendous job this series.

If the A's really thought the situation was settled they wouldn't have acted so shocked when Lawrie was hit by Ventura and proceeded to leave their dugout. That is a clear sign to me that they were trying to play the victim. Reddick also used the words "bush league" which is further evidence.

It doesn't matter if it was intentional or not.

Well, as far as that goes, its all part of the ritual. Even if you know for sure that according to the unwritten rules you had to expect it and the retaliation is completely justified, the old baseball ritual of the intentional HBP demands that everyone get off the bench and the bullpens get a little exercise via a light jog to and from the diamond. You can fight if you want, but even if you don't want to fight you still have to awkwardly stand and stare at each other for a few beats.

I'm sure they also wanted to get this clarification out to hopefully avoid a suspension.

I'm pretty over the A's and Lawrie. We won the series, and that's all that really matters. Hoping for another series win against the Twins.
