Burger King Thinks Mac N' Cheetos Is Something You Might Eat

Burger King Thinks Mac N' Cheetos Is Something You Might Eat

Burger King is out of control and doesn’t care who it hurts. Being tested in select markets and soon rolling out nationwide, Mac N’ Cheetos are deep-fried macaroni and cheese sticks with Cheetos breading. To put it in old, worn-out meme terms, they heard you liked cheese, so they put cheese in their cheese. Also macaroni. Whatever. They’re basically Burger King’s answer to Taco Bell’s Doritos Locos Tacos, born of a partnership between BK and Frito-Lay. Unlike the Doritos Locos Tacos, which have become a mainstay of Taco Bell’s menu, the Mac N’ Cheetos are a limited release, lasting eight weeks or while supplies last. That should give people plenty of time to make bad decisions. Speaking to Bloomberg, Burger King North American president (how can a king have a president?) Alex Macedo threatens that this will not be the last collaboration between fast food royalty and big snack chip.
“We’re working on a few other menu items,” Macedo said. “There’s room for us to do more together in the future.”
Snacktaku guess this means it will have to go to Burger King for the first time since those hot dogs came out earlier this year.

Everyone should watch this - this was when Taco Bell was actually good!

Yes, yes it was. To give you an idea here's what went into just a taco:

Corn tortillas were deep fried in lard using special shaping racks and kept in a warming cabinet that supplied dry heat at 200 degrees.

Beef from five pound chubs (usually two at a time) was browned on a stove top in large pans and had to be drained before it was brought to the production line. The seasoning was made from a dry mix and added while cooking the meat.

Heads of lettuce were trimmed and then shredded using a Hobart machine and the shredded lettuce was stored in a walk in refrigerator where it was kept hydrated and ready to be brought to the line.

Blocks of cheese each weighing approximately 42 pounds were cut with piano wire into seven segments which were run through the same Hobart machine using a different shredding blade, and the shredded cheese was kept in a bus tub in the walk in ready to be brought to the line.

And all of that (and much more) was kept on the production line in small quantities to ensure that the food was as fresh as possible. And that's just a taco. Taco Bell used to be real food.

Don't think of a traditional pizza with Mexican toppings. Think more this;

That's a dated add - they no longer carry green onions, thanks to the sue happy ****s.

I think it's important the CP millennials understand how great Taco Bell used to be! It was even better than Taco Johns and TJs is the best restaurant in Kansas City maybe.

I do not remember the Whopperito.

However I do remember this bad idea:

They also did some other type of mini-burgers in the early to mid 80s but I do not recall what they were called and they flopped just as badly.

Here they are, Burger Bundles. Total false advertising because the ****ing things weren't even actually flame broiled but they show them running on the conveyor belt and even show them with grill lines on them, but when you pulled one apart you could tell it was just microwaved.

It's sad because a lot of their specialty 'roll out' items (new food releases) were out of desperation and trying to match Wendy's & McD's.
