2014-2015 NHL Offseason/Regular Season Thread
Free Agency starts today. I'm probably the worst candidate to keep up an OP with player movement and the like, but figured it would be cool to have a repository for all things NHL leading up to next season.

Anaheim acquires Kesler from Canucks for Bonino, Sbisa, and picks.

-Dallas acquires Spezza from Montreal for Chiasson, others, and a 2nd round pick.
-Avs acquire Briere for Parenteau and a late pick.
-Predators acquire James Neal for Spaling and Hornqvist.
-Marian Gaborik re-signs with Kings.
-Ryan Miller to Canucks via UFA.
-Paul Stastny to the Blues via UFA.
-Jarome Iginla to the Avs via UFA.
-Dan Boyle to the NYR.
-Brad Richards to the Blackhawks.
-Vanek to the Minnesota Wild.
-Robidas to the Maple Leafs.
-Niskanen to the Caps via UFA.

Feel free to add other moves and I'll do my best to update.

Urgh I HATE losing to the stupid ****ing wild. Would have preferred the Preds lost to the AVS or someone like that. Horrible.

I was reading the article about Jagr to Florida just to confirm he waived a no trade clause or something, and apparently he didn't... I understand the point from a business perspective, but that seems kind of brutal for a guy who's been in the league for so long, and it can't be good for player relations down the road (not that he hasn't been at it for a long time, but still).

Yeah, on second thought though, I guess it depends on what was said when he signed with the Devils... if he was told they don't do no-trade clauses and they operate in a way that he wouldn't have a say in a deal, then he knew the risks.

I've essentially stopped watching Wild games and, based on the current 1-0 score, I'm not regretting that. God damn that team sucks to watch.

I hope someone will be stupid enough to trade for Vinny Lecavalier but it won't happen because no one wants his contract. I do like the Coburn deal with Tampa though.
