Marcus Cooper, De’Anthony Thomas injured at Chiefs practice

The Chiefs could be without two key players in Sunday’s season opener against the Tennessee Titans.

Starting cornerback Marcus Cooper suffered an ankle injury and rookie running back/punt returner De’Anthony Thomas strained a hamstring late in Wednesday’s practice, coach Andy Reid said on Thursday morning.

Neither player was expected to practice on Thursday.

Our OL isn't THAT bad. Neither are our CBs.

The problem last year was Sutton didn't have the balls to play more press coverage. Dorsey went out and acquired tall, lanky CBs to play that scheme and we always gave receivers a ****ing 10 yards cushion.

It appears we're doing the same thing this year. We've got some guys who can play, but they're being put in positions where they suck.

I'm not saying we shouldn't seek to upgrade our CBs or that it isn't perhaps the weakest position group on our roster, but it's not bottom 5 bad.

Either Avery or Kelce will be the leading receiver.

Abdullah will play well.

Good post and we'll see soon enough. I heard him specifically say in an interview that he was purposely putting them in bad situations in the preseason. They need to bump and run and I believe they will. It's part of the reason we let Flowers go.

And are we using straight up however many times our QB gets sacked? Or are we doing the whole PFF "this guy gave up ___ sacks, this guys gave up ___ sacks" and adding them together?
