His shot needs work.

The Cavs' situation was absolutely perfect for him. His role would be to pick and pop, stay out of the spotlight, and mostly be a support player as he learned the game. He would have been an able passer which is perfect, since the Cavs have 2 selfish players in Waiters and Kyrie and a guy in LeBron who should always be touching the ball. And while his teammates were grinding it on offense, he could devote all his energy to locking down his defender. Not to mention that Wiggins' brand would have grown playing next to LeBron.

He is literally getting thrown to the Wolves. He has a tremendous expectation to be a superstar now and he needs a lot of time before that happens.
So, he has a ton to learn, but how on earth is he going to learn it if he never does it?

How about by being surrounded by the best player in the game right now. How about at the rawest of your years never having the pressure of being "the guy"? How about when you're still learning how to dribble, not having the pressure of having defenses key in on you?

Wiggins is going to be under a lot of pressure in Minnesota. I mean, even just look at their core players. When Martin and Pekovic are your best scorers, that puts an extraordinary amount of pressure on Wiggins to be the guy.

Maybe Wiggins has the toughness to endure it. I hope he does. But there are plenty who worried that he doesn't have that kind of fire and I just hope he can play under this kind of pressure. It's a tough situation. I know it's a business, but I feel for the kid.

Yeah, I do. Granted, the lottery could have easily just landed him in Minnesota anyway. But he landed in a spot I said even before the draft was the perfect situation for him. If we were talking about Jabari Parker or Embiid, I would say that Minnesota would be a good situation for him. I don't feel the same about Wiggins. I think he will be fine. But I think he's a guy who could have slowly turned into a star. I just hope the pressure he'll face being the go to guy won't get to him.

Or who knows, maybe it forces him to develop a killer instinct. Maybe he's tougher than I think he is. We'll see. I like the kid and have nothing against Minnesota so I hope he succeeds.

A star is a star in Cleveland or in Kazakhstan. If Wiggins is going to be a star it doesn't matter if he's in Cleveland or Minnesota. Only role players depend on being in different cities in order to be great individually. Its not like if LeBron was drafted by the Bucks he'd suck or anything like that. He'd still be the greatest player in the league.

Because he is 19 years old. In basketball yeArs, he might as well be 6. I've been talking about holes in his game for months. And part of that is that he is often unsure of himself. He doesn't attack whether that's driving or even making an aggressive pass. Again, we are not talking about a very confident player like Jabari Parker. We are talking about a guy who probably should be eased into the game.

Like I've said for months, wiggins has a ton to learn. I watched him all the time at KU. He needs to really improve his shooting and left handed dribble.

Lebron was a confident player. I don't think wiggins is. I don't think wiggins will be solid right away. He will get criticized. We will see how he handles that kind of pressure. There are plenty of players who melted under pressure because they were asked to do too much too soon.
