Because there's offensive linemen at the 2nd level on nearly every play. Hitchens had the center on him a dozen times against NE. No DL even touched the center.

Alot of that is because Chris Jones takes half the game off and then spends his time trying to be a penetrator which leads to dudes getting to the second level on blocks.

I don’t think that he takes it off. He’s just trying to get a sack on every play and runs his way out of his gap on run plays which kills everyone else.
