Did Revis always play on one side in his prime? I can’t remember.

My ass we did. I was around back then and went to some games. The Kings average attendance was 8304. You do the math and you will see why they were sold and why they moved. Because they were struggling in KC. New ownership knew that KC sucked but couldn't get the Pacers bought so they bought the Kings and then the politics began. Yeah, we supported the Kings with an average attendance of under of about 1/2 of other teams. You are comparing attendance numbers before the NBA became really huge. That is like comparing the Bulls of the 70's to the Jordan years. The Kings did have a loyal core of fans but ownership never brought in the talent. It was easier to sell out than build a contender. |

BTW- if the owners would have held out and kept the team here when the NBA exploded in popularity - their franchise would have been worth multiple times what they sold it for. Really dumb move.

I would have to agree with you on selling too early as the Pacers are a simular demographic team and were struggling at the same time and you can see what happened there. Then again they do not have MLB. This is what the pacers did with the same time block. 1975-76 42 320,531 7,632 1976-77 41 432,726 10,551 1977-78 41 501,759 12,238 1978-79 41 367,160 8,955 1979-80 41 433,402 10,571 1980-81 41 409,839 9,996 1981-82 41 318,062 7,758 1982-83 41 197,364 4,814 1983-84 41 421,202 10,273 1984-85 41 437,677 10,675 1985-86 41 460,969 11,243 1986-87 41 520,007 12,683 1987-88 41 502,319 12,252 1988-89 41 468,912 11,437 1989-90 41 528,275 12,885 1990-91 41 475,291 11,592 1991-92 41 517,352 12,618 1992-93 41 530,891 12,949 1993-94 41 543,815 13,264 1994-95 41 655,028 15,976 1995-96 41 673,967 16,438 1996-97 41 636,735 15,530 1997-98 41 645,302 15,739 1998-99 25 404,536 16,181 1999-00 41 752,145 18,345 2000-01 41 733,444 17,889 2001-02 41 686,537 16,745 2002-03 41 670,461 16,352 2003-04 41 678,326 16,544 2004-05 41 696,764 16,994 2005-06 41 663,368 16,179 2006-07 41 629,750 15,359 2007-08 41 501,092 12,221 2008-09 41 581,472 14,182 2009-10 41 582,295 14,202 2010-11 41 555,077 13,538 2011-12 33 467,561 14,168 2012-13 41 626,069 15,270 2013-14 41 717,542 17,501

The bandwagon fans would have been flooding the West Bottoms trying to get in. When I was a kid the Chiefs used to draw fans like the Kings did- it is hard to root for a perennial loser. |

1. Winning.
2. Not fleecing fans for parking. Not fleecing fans for ticket cost. Not fleecing fans for concessions. Players more accessible to the public. Baseball fans are generally smarter than football fans. |
