We got back in it when we got hot and the Tigers were playing like shit. Now, we are falling back when we are playing like shit and the Tigers are red hot. Baseball............you really have to temper your angst and enthusiasm. It's a LONG season.

The take away? We aren't as good as our 10 game win streak, and we aren't as bad as our current 6 of 7 dive. Unfortunately, we are most likely a Marginal Plus .500 team, that will be battling to make 1 of the 2 Wild Card spots in the AL with, legitimately, about 7-8 other teams. Unless our hitting gets more consistent, it's going to be mighty difficult to make the Playoffs. I think it's going to take 88 wins to slide into the last WC spot, which is 4 fewer than last year to get the last spot. The AL appears to be flatter than it was last year. We just need to find a way to improve on our 2013 record by 2 to 3 games.

It really was a good post. I suck at the tempering part. When the Royals won 10 in a row I bet a Tigers fan that Det wouldn't win the division. I just yesterday set aside that $20

Good enough to not get anything for Shields. Royals lost.

Chiefscountry has the mojo!

Hosmer and Moose are both going deep tonight, Vargas is going to be Vargas, and Ned is going to manage the hell out of this one.

My lineup would be:

Dyson
Cain
Gordon
Salvy
Hosmer
Butler
Infante
Moustakas
Escobar

If Butler ever got it back together, I would swap Salvy and Butler.

I always mention how Friday night baseball is my favorite. I always feel that I am left with disappointment after Friday games, however. I calculated our Friday night record and we are 6-6. So I only start the weekend off poorly half the time.
