Game of Thrones Thread

Feel free to discuss any future speculation, theories. Anything from the books is fair game to post. Everything that has been broadcast on TV or from HBO. No spoilers needed.

  1. If you watched or know the events that will take place in a unaired episode that has not been broadcast on HBO, you must put all the information and comments in a spoiler tag.
  2. Do not post any media of any kind involving actual content from unaired episodes without being in a spoiler. The only exception to the spoiler rule is content publicly posted from HBO and or the GOT actor themselves. Teasers, promos, trailers etc.

Any person unable to follow the spoiler rules will be banned from this thread. 14 days for first offense. Perm banned from the thread for a 2nd offense.

I thought it was pretty badass. Classic cocky Jamie. It was good.

IRL it would have been more impressive with a giant ass war horse. The horses they used were enormous.

It wouldn't be GoT without some narrative. We've seen a lot of action but it came be all action.

I was talking more about the show of horsemanship on film than the writing for the character.

I'm sure there were some camera tricks involved, but still a great visual.

Maybe I'm a simpleton but I don't know if too many tricks that would materially change the difficulty of that. Even if the angle was shallower that was pretty seamless.

I'm hoping Arya turns the tables in big way. Seems like she has to for this all to somehow be worth the wait.

I felt the same but was likely from featuring many of the more boring characters/plot lines other than Bran.

He should have pressed white walker issue further as well. Only three people have killed one in the past 8,000 years or so and he's one of them. That's quite the feat.
It didn't seem as though they were going to believe the white walker claim, though. Didn't the younger brother say out loud that they didn't exist when Gilly mentioned that Sam killed one?

I enjoy Sam's story line, and thought this week's scenes were great. Sam is loyal and acts in the best interest of the people he cares about, regardless of how it affects him. I enjoy his character.

It looked like atrociously bad CGI pasting of heads on bodies to me, but maybe I'm wrong.

They probably wouldn't- no one does in this show. My problem with that is probably just the broader issue with Sam not seeming to think, speak or care much that the white walkers have returned. He of all people should realize that is the most important part of this story. Jon, the Watch and wildlings are similarly blasé about it too.

I guess they all just feel like they're safe on the right side of the wall..?

Yeah, seems strange that they aren't sounding the alarm to everybody in Westeros. It sounds like nobody in Westeros is even caring or asking why Jon let all Wildlings past the wall. What do they even think the purpose of the wall is at this point?

Sweet - they brought Jaime's journey to Riverrun back into the series.

So far that has been my favorite part of his character arc. He showed himself to be extremely shrewd, pragmatic and intelligent. He also shows a pretty badass streak that I thought he'd lost with his hand with this little exchange...

Spoiler!

And then

Spoiler!

They called for aid seasons ago, the Lannisters laughed. Stanis answered.

Yeah, but that was before they essentially declared peace with all Wildlings and let them move into Westeros. I thought Stannis was more there to fight Wiildlings. Now it just seems like if nobody believes in White Walkers, you might as well just tell the Night's Watch they are free of their vows and can do whatever. The wall has no purpose.
