I've noticed this as well. I've seen people blow past cops on SW Trafficway, totally oblivious to the fact their was a patrol car to their left. Cops did jack shit.

Cops in Westport really don't give a shit about anything outside of public brawling, and even then I've seen them just break it up and tell people to get out of there.

I didn't even here of the plaza until I was out of high school. And when I did it was more of an adult type place that you go for dates and shopping. Not just some place to hang around and loiter.

I actually do admire the mobs on some level. When the private sector couldn't care less if you exist and your city government & school system can never get it together, why not make yourself heard in the most symbolic place in the city to do so.

I don't think they are there for that. they have community centers. They have consoles to keep them busy. They have 10x more things to keep them occupied than kids in the 90s.

If parents can drive them 20 plus minutes to loiter then their parents must not be doing too bad. School system? I grew up in independence, your parents either made you study or didn't give a shit.

The funny thing about these plaza "riots" are that they don't start tile 9 or 10. Most people are out of there by 9 o'clock anyway. If you go there on a weekend when it's nice out the place is Times Square busy.
