Suburban chain BBQ.

I'm going down to the 'burbs this afternoon for a kid's high school graduation party. There's a famous Dave's and a Colston BBQ nearby. I've been to Famous Dave's, but have not been to Colston. Which should I go to?

Also, do I need to bring a gift for this kid? I know his mother and have met him once or twice 10+ years ago. if I just bring a check and a card, what's appropriate?

Yep. Colston's has a good chicken fried steak and I don't like famous Daves, so easy choice for me.

Go to the place you have not been if it sucks not your fault.

A 25.00 gift card is aok. Or a worthless 25.00 treasury savings bond like my Aunt and Uncle got me. Cheap ****s.

Suburban chain BBQ.

I usually get $100 bills for graduates that I know. I'm not sure about a kid I haven't seen in years.

Colston's.

Well, I tried to find Colston's, but it wasn't where the map said it was and it was those big suburban streets the curve around and are all wide and busy so you can't turn around or go around the block. I really dislike those street systems.

So I panicked and headed north toward home, which was the opposite direction of Famous Dave's. I ended up at Black Eyed Pea since I was in the mood for a baked potato, but once I got in there I didn't order a baked potato.

It was chaos.

And I ended up giving the kid $50. I suspect he'll open the card tonight and ask his mom, "Who is this?", but I did my civic duty.

Good for you. You can afford it, he'll remember you for that, and now instead of eating he can just buy drugs. Everyone wins.

Black Eyed Pea used to have the best deep fried corn on the cob, like 18-20 years ago.

Famous Daves for $25, but not by much. They both are blah compared to KC BBQ but not the worst if you do not have much else.
