I think its a no brainer to bring him in. Fills a need without expending draftpick. McClain plays the 3-4 and its a cockpunch to the faders if he's exceeds expectations.

Get real he is nothing more than a brainless thug. 6 1/2 sacks 1 interception 1 forced fumble and an allpro rap sheet...you can have him~

Exceeding expectations would mean he looked like a real NFL player out there. I'm sure he'll play harder for less money, though.

If we bring him in, his 4 million only kicks in for gameday paychecks, right? No bonuses or anything?
What would be the harm in claiming him, and bring him in for regular off-season activities? Could always cut him in TC and we're not out much.

If the Chiefs claim him what 2 players are you cutting ? Chiefs only have 4.1m in cap space. Need 4m to draft.

I could be wrong? I think teams can add up too 80 something players with out affecting the cap space this time of year. Then come time the deadlines during preseason they have to trim the roster & that is when they tell who stays or who gots to go. So they can keep these guys around for camp fodders.

But don't we have over 51 players? So the whole 4 mill won't affect the cap, maybe 1 or 2 at most I would think. Also, we still have a few weeks until the draft, so there's plenty of time to restructure somebody making 15 mill this year, right?

He would immediately become one of the top 51 knocking someone who makes the league min. out of it.
