Anyone ever work at Home Depot?

Starting first night shift in about an hour or so, freight team.

Really nervous, anyone ever work there or still do? It's only part time and just to get some $ on the side.

I also love how they close the entire ****ing length of the aisle when they loading one of the shelves. The thing I needed was a good 30 feet away from where they were loading but the guy freaked out when I tried to sneak across the barrier.

Well who would ask a question of anyone working the floor of HD. Does that give those young snot nose in orange vests instant cred?

Good move breaching the barricade. That kids probably got a good 15 minutes of time on a fork lift good move. They barricade it because the idiot is probably likely to pull the whole shelving down and everything on it as accomplish what he was instructed to do.

I worked at HomeBase for six years and paid my own way through college. It was basically the same store as Home Depot but West of the Rockies and the sign (and my vest) was yellow instead of Orange.

Stock crew you are gonna get all types of people. You'll pretty quickly identify the ones who are good, responsible workers, and the ones who are slackers or who're just getting by doing as little as possible. Just stick to/follow the good ones and you'll do great.

First couple of nights will just be orientation/learning by following/safety training and if you are going to get a lift license there will be training there, too. Don't be afraid to ask questions if something's not clear, just ask the better people as identified above.

Good luck!

I try to find the guy who's in his 50s who looks like he probably retired from his construction job and now spends most of his time in his woodshop and does HD part time.

I was willing to take the risk. Like I said, the thing I need is always far from the danger zone but they block off the entire aisle.

Prisoners in the old west used to escape using their shoe laces and their belt. You are in a freaking Home Depot and you can't devise at least 12 different ways to reach 30' without crossing the chain?

With all the duct tape alone, I should have been able to figure out something.
