Everyone is on vacation. It was just the 4th of July and everyone is trying to get time with family before the season starts.

We've interviewed 3 people. I would imagine 2nd interviews will happen this week and an announcement will happen the following week

Because Chiefs.

Personally, I think it's because he didn't bow properly to Reid, fired one of his homies. So now we will have the youngest least experienced GM in the league that has never negotiated contracts doing just that. Master stroke of genius.

Reid has his lackey, now technically he is back to head coach, offensive coordinator, assistant GM and drafting. Maybe contract negotiations too. What could go wrong?
Good things happen when it becomes 100% Reid World.
You're just overreacting.

If Veach is their guy they don't need to be in a rush to announce anything. Veach and his staff are in the building already, so they aren't going to be scrambling to fill a bunch of positions.

Clark is on vacation anyways, and the more time that goes by the more heat will die down on the Dorsey firing.

Trying to find a good talent evaluator that will be a "yes man" to Hunt/Reid is very difficult if not impossible. And don't think for a moment these candidates aren't asking questions that relate to the Dorsey firing trying to get a feel and good read on what really happened(reading between the lines) based on Hunt/Reid's answers with the candidates asking themselves; will I really be totally in charge of personnel and contracts?. Because there has been no replacement yet is very telling and it is NOT because of vacation BS either. Any good GM will not be a "yes man".

Clark not trying to look impulsive here by taking his time but the truth is........

Veach is the one who found McCoy and Desean Jackson. I wouldn't say Veach is a pushover or can't find talent

Every GM finds talented players. Pioli drafted Poe, Houston, Bailey and Hudson.

The question you should ask is can Veach find top level guys and bargain bin players like Ron parker to fill the back portion of the roster.

That is the million dollar question. On another note how good has Parker been. He's one of the top FS in the league IMO.

Most people seem to buy into the justification that Dorssey was fired because of his cap mismanagement and poor contracts. Yet, the leading in house candidate, Veach, has no experience in those areas. Doesn't pass the eyeball test.

Well, it's because NO ONE IS SAYING THAT.

Can't you dumb mother****ers that continue to create your own narrative READ the articles written and linked from Sam Mellinger, Terez Paylor, Albert Breer and Jason La Cafora and tweets from Jason Cole?

And for the record, Trip McCracken, who was responsible for Cap Management, was fired in May.

One of the big questions I have is if Veach will have the same cajones Dorsey had. What made Dorsey different from every GM we've ever had was his willingness to take risks. Mahomes, Peters, Tyreke, and hell... tons of critics ripped the Chris Jones and Dee Ford picks. These were gutsy picks -- all grand slams. If Mahomes hits, that's a walk-off home run. What makes me a little nervous about our drafting is, it's not like these were decisions made from plucking off a draft board. Dorsey made a lot of moves that we now learned were off-script which means that he had a lot of influence on many of the big decisions.

Rounding out back half of rosters is nice. But those are just the finishing touches on a championship roster. What Dorsey did was bring in superstars who carry very high positional value based on their talent.

All of you who think we are screwed without Dorsey's draft knowledge and ability to find players for cheap who can fill in the roster are being all little over the top.

Elway is a shitty draft guy but he built an all time great defense that won the effing SB and he never was close to the cap trouble we are in every year.

There is more to being a GM than the draft and scouting. Dorsey was good at like one part of 5.

Find a therapist and tell him/her about all of your unresolved daddy issues. Let it flow and get a good cry out.

Return to the board when you can act like an adult, unless you choose to throw another tantrum over Clay and run away.

Finding a pass rusher at #23 is a great pick. It's not easy to find high positional value guys at that spot. Semantics... I think you get my point. He took a risk and it looks like it's going to be a very good one.

It's not hard to sign FA's and have them take good deals when you luck into Peyton Manning.

Elway is 17-15 without Manning and hasn't had good FA signings in the two offseason without him.
