I honestly think the MLB needs to do away with the "official" game by 4.5 or 5 inning rule.

I just feel that if the game have been already started, and had to be suspended for whatever reason, it should be marked as "suspended" to be resumed at a TBD.

I disagree. Baseball is already played to the edge of October. Changing the rule would inevitably create a situation where a game(or more) is needed to be made up on the back end of the schedule pushing to November.

Apparently the Giants actually asked that the Cubs forfeit the game in their protest, but MLB said no to that, since the Cubs grounds crew tried their best, even though they screwed up somehow.

I see your point of view, and I respect that. I just do not agree with the analogy of that "official" game is at a 4.5 or 5 innings of play, whereas the game is meant to be played 9 innings.
