About Justin Houston..
Does anyone else think he has been playing pretty lazily early in games this year? Perhaps it has been a scheme thing, perhaps today he was still feeling some illness.. but I typically watch him on 75+% of the snaps and its like he is waiting until the 4th quarter to 'flip the switch'. He shuts down the run for 4 quarters, I am referring only to his pass rush.

He either gets dropped into coverage, or he will rush and give up on it if he doesn't win immediately. Then, the 4th quarter hits and we see the dominant, relentless Justin Houston that he used to be on every down.

Hopefully its just some sort of schematic thing going on. I'm glad he is still having a huge impact nonetheless with 4 sacks thus far, but I can't help but wonder if he is holding back effort. Lets hope that changes because the defense is damn good when he is rolling...

Agreed. Sutton has got to stop putting him covering TEs/WRs one-on-one... That's just stupid unless we have some crazy blitz that can get to the QB quick...

He is simply not a big money pass rusher. If you look around at the best pass rushers in the league, Houston is not even close. High dollar pass rushers get in the back field more often.

I like Justin Houston. He is a good player. But that 22 sack season is starting to look more and more like an outlier.

He is probably the 4th or 5th best pass rusher in our division, let alone the rest of the league.

To be fair to J Houston he is not getting much help. Our whole dline is failing to get pressure right now.

That's what made the Giants dline that dominated so special they had so many great pass rushers if one was having an off game or dominated it wouldn't matter someone else would pick up the slack. We need Hali back badly.. Even though he is not what he once was I know he will help...

0 against washington in a legitimate close game when we really needed it.

Legitimate pass rushers can beat the tackle off the ball and make them look absolutely silly.

Legitimate edge rushers can make a play on the running back in the backfield occasionally. Especially when the ****ing guy (Bell) stands back there for a second and a half before he even moves forward.

I think you're confused. We haven't been blowing teams out this season. As I just mentioned, Philly took the game down to the wire despite being down by two scores with minimal time left. How many plays do you think Tom Brady would have needed to crush a two score lead?

In the 4th quarter when you're trying to ice the game, EVERY play is important.

Those teams "catching up" were fully capable of doing so if it weren't for some timely sacks by yours truly.
