Pfft...

If you are referring to me, I wasn't trying trying to be condescending in the manner you are implying. The topic is tacos, so I shared my obviously over the top enthusiasm for them (as if the handle hadn't given it away) I thought perhaps maybe this would be useful to someone else if they were thinking of making tacos. If you want to stick to cheese hamburger and sour cream suit yourself, it's not like I started the thread fwiw.

If you weren't talking about me then forget it and move on.

Nah, not you specifically. It's like this on any thread that talks about chain restaurants or fast food places. There's always some Dane-like douchebag who has to out-snob the other food snobs. And it always falls into the same format. "I've had X food in X-food's country before. Some X-food country's immigrants opened up a place in Y City. Once you've had REAL X food, everything else X foody tastes like crap."

Well ****ing good for you. X food just isn't a big part of the local culture where I live, so... yeah. Thanks for aggressively sharing your experience with me on the internet in a way that expects me to think that's impressive. So how about you go slam your testicles with a meat tenderizer?

I'm not saying snobs are bad. We're all snobs about something. I'm a music/art snob, but at least with the internet there's no excuse for a limited palate of experience when it comes to auditory and visual art. It's kind of hard to do that same thing with taste. Impossible, really.

And even then, if somebody starts a thread about a particular pop group or some other genre/artist I have no interest or taste for, I've never gone in and said, "Listen, I've experienced REAL music before, and I can say that the mass-produced garbage you seem to like pales in comparison to what I listen to." There's just no point to that.

You weren't doing that in your posts. I'm just commenting on crap that always seems to crop up in threads like this.

Yes, and what's funny about the threads about Mexican food is people act like there is only good Mexican food in Cali, Texas, the Southwest.

Good Mexican food is everywhere, and if there isn't good Mexican food in your city/town then it's super simple to make good Mexican food.

how many of you entered this thread hoping taco john and I were secretly gay lovers who had been together for years and he took me to lunch today and there was a photo of us being real sweet together at a posh little bistro?
