Jeff Risdon did a mock draft and this is what he had for the Chiefs:
27. Kansas City Chiefs: Deshone Kizer, QB, Notre Dame. This is pure speculation based on a dinner conversation I had with a scout from a different team following Notre Dame’s pro day. His team believes Andy Reid and the Chiefs love the polarizing Kizer, who looked like a potential No. 1 overall pick in 2015 but regressed in ’16. |

Becoming apparent that NFL decision makers like this QB class. No superstar, but 4 will go in 1st and they will become solid NFL starters

It'd be sweet if this ended up resembling the 2004 draft class...the only one of those 4 first rounders who didn't pan out was JP Losman...the others being Rivers, Eli and Roethlisberger.

Man, after browsing every pick in that 2004 class, excluding Matt Schaub, man...those were some sorry slap-dicks... and obviously Schaub isn't super QB by any means, but he's had his moments.

For me it is Mahomes and it is not even close. He has that "IT" factor of being a true gamer. A Favre/Steve Young type, meaning a fire in the belly to make a play scrambling with a big arm but with that said that can lead to being undisciplined at times as well.

This is what I've been saying all along if you fix foot work of Mahomes and KiZerr there might be something there.
The thing that impressed me was I think Watson has allready started to work on his foot work. He's been working with Jordan Palmer on his own. That shows me a kid that wants to get better. Watch a lot of his ints this year it was because of bad footwork not vision. The combine you could allready see the start of getting his feet planted before he throws. No he doesn't have the arm of Kizer or Mahomes. But coming out of college they said Tom Brady didn't have a great arm either. I'm telling you guys the leadership and poise of this kid with our talented to team would make the chiefs a powerhouse for years to come. Plus as Ive said wouldn't it be great to see him do the bow and arrow celebration in red and gold? I would call up Ballard and be like we have been there for you when you had no job after Bears and gave you an opportunity. You need players we don't need all these draft picks. How bout we trade you first, second, third for 15. We still have third, 4th, two fifths, two 6ths and 7 in a deep defensive draft. What ya guys think |
