125m for 25m of WAR. Not good. That is a return of 1/5 of pay. Which is exactly what Mike Sweeney (55m for 11.4m of WAR) returned to us. Had we gone seven years on that bum he'd have been easily worse ROI than Zito.


Edit: Sweeney only had 3.8 WAR his last five seasons. So in fact, his ROI was significantly worse than Zito.

Any day when your magic number drops by 2 is a good day. Having it drop by 3 and go to 31 tomorrow would be terrific.

Just noticed that this morning, for the first time this season, the BP playoff model finally thinks we're favored to win the division.

So, even if you think the Royals are a bit of a lucky fraud and are not that good, they are still in pretty good shape to just hang on and back in.

Indeed. But in reality, all we can control is the one in Arlington.

I'm happy the Twins won 1 game against Detroit. If they can win one more and split the 4, I'd be thrilled.

I think maybe it should be 33. I know the standings show 34, but if you read the explanation and add the tigers losses (58) to the royals wins (71) and subtract from 162 you get 33.
