I have bunny shadow puppet feet, AMA
I'm Fire Me Boy!

I got infections in my toes. After weeks and weeks of wound care treatment and tests, I went into hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy to stabilize.

They finally stabilized, but not before two toes on my left foot and three on my right were basically dead. So a surgeon cut them off three weeks ago - second and third from one; first, second, and third from the other.

A week later, I went into the ER with some bruising and redness that wasn't normal, and five days later they cut off my other big toe. So now I have two bunny shadow puppets on my feet.



The HBO seems to be working. Doc was "extremely pleased" today, which is a breath of relief for me. If these wounds don't heal, they'll have to cut further up on my foot/feet, and eventually I could lose the whole damn thing, which honestly scares the shit out of me.

So that's my latest, folks. Ask me anything.

Yes. What sucks is my diabetes has been well controlled for several years. My A1C a week ago was 5.9.

She's good people, for sure. She's been very positive and has kept me from getting too inside my own head. I have a tendency to go to dark places with this kind of stuff.

Damn I hate hearing stuff like that. I had an Aunt who had type I diabetes and was on dialysis most of her middle age. First it took her toes then her feet then her leggs just below the knee. Shortly after that one it took her life. I remember at a family get together not so long after she lost her toes she was still learning to re-walk and keep her balance. Take care of your self dude and obey them doctors.

I took my 6 month sabbatical to lose weight because I was deathly afraid of gettign diabetes or having a stroke. Three weeks ago I suffered a TIA aka mini stroke that lasted an hour and spent overnight in the ER.

I don't even want to think about diabetes. My aunt and cousin have it real bad.

I hope things rapidly improve for you.
