Based on a little discussion in the other thread, I think FAX needs a break. And anyway, with Mahomes, we don't have to rely on luck and mojo for wins anymore, so it seems fitting that starting the game thread should be an honor shared by many.

So if for no other reason than it's almost 12:30 and no one has started it yet, here's a game thread. In Mahomes we trust. Amen.

I sat next to a couple who were Bengals fans. The guy told me he came to a Bengals preseason game a few years ago, and I told him there was no comparison between preseason and regular season, especially a prime time game.

He later used words like insane, crazy, and deafening to describe Arrowhead. I asked him if he was happy with Marvin Lewis and his response was hell no. He said most Bengals fans wanted him gone, but the team president, Mike? Brown was too loyal.

I told him about Save Our Chiefs and he looked at me like I was stupid, and said "Uh, obviously there is a huge difference in the fanbase." I know Arrowhead, and Chiefs Kingdom, are really one of the top stadiums and fan bases in football, but I always assumed that each fanbase was just as passionate about their team, as long as their team had never moved, abandoned their city, etc.

He said he had been to Lambeau Field and a couple of other stadiums, and he said Lambeau was the closest to the Arrowhead experience, but it was still miles away from being as loud or crazy.

Overall, they were very nice people, and when they left with about 7 minutes left in the game, I really hoped that their experience wouldn't be ruined by some drunk, obnoxious fans.
