Insightful about the teams?

Seemed he spent more time talking about the players parents than the players themselves and more time on the Pac12 than the Big 12.

Meh.

I'm seeing a lot of brackets that have them as the #8 in our field.

It seems the NCAA loves to do that... but this year, we'd have no excuse not to take care of them.

I know the UT game wasn't our best on paper or in actual results, but I will say it was the game that made me feel the most confident about our ability to win a championship this year.

Jackson has ascended even more, and between he and Mason, Jackson was the better player on Saturday, which is saying something.

The emergence of Coleby and the re-emergence of Bragg has a ton to do with why I feel confident. It just changes the whole landscape of the game when we can rotate three bigs through, instead of shuffling our backcourt around all game.

I just felt like we played with energy and intensity, and while there were some problems with rebounding, for the most part it just felt like a great team win that never really felt in contention.

I will say, however, that Jarrett Allen is the real deal. Man, we really could have used that kid this year. I don't know if we would have lost a game if he had come to KU. Love his game, and I think he should go to the NBA, where he will do nothing but improve.

Allen vs. Jackson was a super fun matchup to watch, and he gave Josh all he could handle. Jackson has him when he puts it on the deck, though.

Speaking of which... I wonder if Devonte reads message boards. There was a lot of chatter about how he doesn't ever attack the rim and just hangs by the three point line. Then, Saturday afternoon, he's driving to the basket and - GASP! - actually getting to the free throw line. I saw him line up for his first FT and thought, "Holy shit... I don't remember the last time he shot free throws. I know everyone else's FT routine, but can't think of his at all."

Good signs, all around, I'd say. Let's just win out now and get that top seed in the tourney.

UCLA is coming, and we best be ready.

I can see this being a 2007 type year where they send us to the west to play in Anaheim where UCLA is playing.

Our route is Tulsa, then KC, then Phoenix. No way they send us out west unless we drop to a 2 seed, and we aren't dropping to a 2 seed.

Sure we do. We are #8 Kenpom, they are #10. It would be almost a pick em game by Vegas odds. It was virtually that way when we played them a few years ago. Very unlucky to get them as an 8 or 9 seed then, would be super unlucky to get them now.

While I didn't realize they were ranked so highly in Kenpom, this team definitely isn't cut from the same cloth as the Wichita State teams of old. I watched a few of their non-con games and the different was quite noticeable. Perhaps they've sharpened up since, but without Baker and VV, it's hard to think that they're the same caliber as they were in years past.

I really wish people would stop thinking this.

Yes, we played WSU in the 2nd round 2 years ago. But other than that, there is very little evidence that the NCAA has set us (or anyone else) up in these types of early round matchups.

I should have clarified, bracketologists always love the matchup, and after last year some think the NCAA does too. There was no justifiable reason for them to be a 7 in 2015. They were predicted to be a 4 seed going into the tournament and had the resume to back that up. Seeing them placed so low made zero sense (an 8 this season would be as criminal, imho).

They were in our bracket again last season, and if they're there for a third season in a row, it'll attract some speculation about how the NCAA feels about the matchup, justified or not.

Ha. So you don't think, that when Missouri makes the tournament again in ten years, that the committee won't try to put them in your bracket? You are naive.

As the great Mark Mangino said, DOLLAR SIGNS.
