If they wanted to play it safe, you put Stephenson at Left Tackle and the drop off wouldn't be huge. They are playing Fisher at LT because they want to develop him and see how he does.

They didn't overestimate anything. They knew exactly what they are getting themselves into and still have a chance to swap Stephenson back in at LT if they feel uncomfortable. As much as people make it about ALbert, it's not. It's about Fisher.

His play right now is unacceptable. But it's nowhere near as bad as people want it to be. But in the world of CP, it's easy to point to 1 or 2 plays where things went really badly and ignore the ones where things went just fine.
I agree. I think he's going to improve.

Are you the same Chiefzilla that used to post on the Chiefs coalition board? I've been lurking this forum for years and even joined before what my membership shows now (2010?) I joined under a an old email address and couldn't remember my password.

Yup. Took a lot of shit there for being too negative, now taking shit for being too positive. So it goes. Being neutral on either board gets you nowhere.

Haha! I thought it was you. While I didn't agree with everything you said I actually liked most of your posts. I was bavarianq on that board.

This board can be pretty rough sometimes. I'm a pretty big homer ( I always try to see the positive side of things) so I don't post much, but it's funny to read some of the comments.

But that doesn't fly in a CP culture that is insistent that a guy is either terrible and forever terrible, or awesome and forever infallible.
Which is why I'm not waving the white flag just yet. I think, hope given another off season he'll start to preform as the Eric Fisher we envisioned... but as of right now if he can at least cling to mediocrity I'd consider it progress.

According to his position coach, it's NOT technique. It's that he lacks strength in his surgically repaired shoulder. Of course, the offensive coordinator said the EXACT OPPOSITE yesterday, so who knows what the REAL story is. So nice they implemented the Scott Pioli system of dealing with media questions.

Assuming that his position coach is correct (which I am because if you've ever listened to a Doug Pederson interview, everything is ALWAYS "great" and they're "just working on the little things") Fisher won't be able to dramatically improve during the season.

He needs offseason weight work. So it's going to be ANOTHER year, at least, before we finally get to see what he can really be.

Andy Heck said yesterday on 810 that there is ZERO learning curve moving from right to left.

He said emphatically that it's not an issue and that Fisher's problem is in his shoulder.

I compiled a few more plays o' suck for Eric Fisher's fans! I particularly like the plays where he ends up on his ass.

His shoulder problems are driving some problems with technique. But his technique needs a ton of work too. As many have said, he tends to lean into his blocks. I don't think Fisher will dramatically improve. I think has been bad but not as terrible as some have made out to be. And I think he should progress to passable with a bad shoulder.

More than anything, I believe that more and more experience is what will drive improvement. Can't do anything about him getting overpowered. But there are plenty of mistakes he's made the first 2 games that will be fixed once he has a better understanding of how to play the position on a pro level.

This season, I don't really care about him playing like a first round pick. I just want him to be average. I think he can do that. We have to stop judging him like a 1.1 pick. The pick sucked, period.

Where is the one where Fisher is beaten and gets Alex Smith crushed? It was the play where he hits Bowe on a crossing route.

Well it's his 3rd mult so you may have to grade on the curve.
