JFC. If you don't have the self control to be responsible for your own actions then just make everyone conform to your will then, huh? I have no plans on changing my posting, and I hope no one else does, regardless of these little tantrums you people have been throwing the last few days. And just to be clear, by "you people", I mean those of you with sandy vaginal syndrome.

Quit being a dick. Use the spoiler tag function. Why is this such a ****ing chore? It's right there in the bar when you're posting.

Really, this is it. There's no guaranteeing a new member will even know about spoiler tags or that a veteran member will follow the same protocol as you. You open up a movie thread after it's been released, you're doing so at your own risk.

Just move on.

It's not a question involving a new member. It almost never is when this happens. Certainly somebody here since 2007 should recognize how people have done things here (and across most of rest of the internet) for the entirety of the board's existence.

It's not anything about 'bleeding vaginas', it's not something that needs to be moderated, there Don't need to be hard and fast rules to cite. It's just a matter of taking a second to think about other people before you post something that might impact their experience. Again, just common courtesy. And as far as 'having the self control not to click into a thread after something comes out', the reality is that a lot of people check after release just to see what the reaction was so they can decide whether to go or not.

Not jumping on anybody, can't change anything about that has already happened, just saying that it's not exactly a hardship or some civil rights violation to just give it a weekend before posting heavy details about a movie. Or to spoiler tag it if you do want to get into some specific discussion. We've done it most of the summer already with bvs and cacw...

Just my 2 cents.

Or you follow the rules.

I really don't. But then I have over a decade of history here for mods to judge my comments on.

And yes, I have been banned. It was for one day but it was a very, very, very long day...

The point is that it could be. Similar shit happens in the Pictures thread every week. Some new member or someone who doesn't know the rules will post a nude with no NSFW tag. Some will bitch and some will argue that you shouldn't be opening titty threads at work so it isn't a big deal.

There are many different schools of thought on this subject, obviously- that much has been expressed by several others in this very thread. Some think once it's released everything is fair game, some think you should spoiler the opening weekend, some think you should spoiler the first couple weeks. Knowing that, don't bring your ass in one of these threads on opening night and not expect to read some shit you don't want to read.

There's a bit of a difference between the Pics forum issue and this one because there are rules in place that say you need to NSFW tag nudes, but the core point remains. Enter at your own risk.

Is there an official rule on the subject?

obviously if the movie has barely opened there should be spoiler tags... some prob read the thread hoping to see some non-spoiler opinions to gauge their interest in going to see the movie... couple days in.. open season

Holy shit I've never seen something so ****ing simple turned so damn complicated. If there is spoilers in your post, use spoiler tags. Its one click of a button or a few key strokes. That's it.
