I recommend a hangover breakfast at a place called Succotash. Its East of Hallmark a couple of blocks on Holmes and 26th I think. It's kind of hipster joint but the food is great and portions are huge.

I noticed in the OP you mentioned the fire thing on Brush creek which is a seasonal thing I believe happens in the middle of October. If we're talking about festivals and such a few more would be....

The Plaza Art Fair: Happens middle of September on the plaza. Pretty fun event to attend.

There's a kick ass Greek Festival in Overland Park which goes on in the middle of August IIRC.

St. Patricks day in Westport

The Big 12 tournament downtown is fun. If you can't get tickets just go next door to PNL and watch the game in the courtyard it's fun.

The KC Boat show at Bartle Hall.

Renaissance Festival in Bonner Springs.

Not anything specific. I went up in the liberty memorial tower and realized there is probably a lot of cool shit around town that I haven't done yet. I also went and visited the scout statue that I've seen on tv hundreds of times but had never looked at in person.

I just wanted to get a list of stuff that we might take for granted but should be checked out. I hope to visit kaw point sometime.

I'd also take a short drive to Weston,MO some Saturday when it's warmer,the McCormick Distillery is there,another brewery which also a cool tour with free samples and lots of little shops and cafes plus some great live music.
