Grade my team

I think we have had a thread for this in the past.. so feel free to post your own team below.

I just drafted last night in my 14-team, 1/2 ppr league. Return yards count for the individual and the flex position also can be a QB. Our league used to have six points for passing td's, but returned it to four points a couple years ago. Despite that, QBs go off the board way to soon. In fact, eleven were taken in the first round and five in the second round.

My strategy was to wait on QB and load up on other positions, as I picked seventh.

Team is below. The number in parenthesis is my ranking of these players within their positional groups (didn't combine them into one board), just for general interest.

1 - Jamaal Charles - KC RB (1)
2 - Antonio Brown - Pit WR (1)
3 - Teddy Bridgewater - Min QB (18)
4 - C.J. Spiller - NO RB (8) - due to return yards
5 - Latavius Murray - Oak RB (14)
6 - DaVante Adams - GB WR (10)
7 - Blake Bortles - Jax QB (23)
8 - Darren Sproles - Phi RB (25) - I think he will get return yards in the regular season
9 - Percy Harvin - Buf WR (17) - due to return yards
10 - Denard Robinson - Jax RB (40)
11 - Leonard Hankerson - Atl WR (42)
12 - Brian Quick - StL WR (44)
13 - Charles Clay - Buf TE (10)
14 - Chiefs D (14)
15 - Brandon McManus - Den K (2)

I think I regret the Percy Harvin pick already. Beckham was taken two picks before I took Bridgewater, and I think I paniced on QB a bit, although I do like Teddy.

If I had know Bortles would drop into the 7th, I think I would have taken another top-tier WR, but most were scooped up, and I wasn't feeling Demaryius Thomas.

Ugh.. I'm just completely disappointed on Davante Adams... He did lead the team in targets, but I expected a better performance, and a trip into the endzone. ..

Tell me about it. I had to sit and watch as Wright and Johnson blew up on my bench. Luckily I won this week....but I can't be doing that shit every week.

Do I just give it another week? I might still be able to trade Mike Wallace for Eli Manning still....but Eli looked meh last night.
So, Mariota is on the waiver wire? I would take him before Eli.

I guess see how Mike Wallace looks tonight. Coleman looked too good to drop I guess.

Swinging a deal for Reed which will leave me with the roster below. The numbers in parantheses are the actual ranking in terms of points from week 1 for the players in my league (since return yards count and 1/2 ppr).

Last week I started Clay at TE, but he didn't pan out and apparently has chronic knee issues.

QB: Bridgewater (28), Bortles (25)
RB: Charles (8), Sproles (12), L. Murray (25), Spiller (na)
WR: Brown (3), Harvin (10), Donte Moncrief (16), DaVante Adams (42), DeVante Parker (na),
TE: Reed (6), Ebron (11)
D: Indianapolis
K: McManus

If my deal goes through, I think I am looking pretty good at TE, which would be a nice recovery from waiting until round 13 to pick up a TE during the draft.

I wish we had a couple more bench spots since there are some good RB's and WR on the waiver wire.

Too bad there is nothing on the QB wire. I'm actually trading Mallett for Reed, which gives you an idea how thin the QB position is with a 14 team league where you can start 2 QBs (one in the open flex position).

You think Bortles / Bridgwater will bounce back? I know they were playing two tough defenses, but at the moment I feel like my draft strategy may have backfired. I lost my first game, partly because of Adams (WR) and Clay, but also largely due to the QB duo each doing fairly poorly.

I am trying not to overreact to one game from Adams... but it is hard.

OK, I barely made the correct choice this past week in benching Russell Wilson @ STL for Sam Bradford @ ATL, but this week they've both got decently favorable matchups so I'm torn.

Bradford at home against DAL or Russell Wilson @ GB?

Both defenses are average to below average. I'm a bit worried about Seattle's line against Matthews and Peppers. The Boys don't really have any premier pass rushers so Bradford could have all the time in the world. It is a division game, though, so maybe the Cowboys will be up for this one.

What does CP think?

It's not a division game. It is a conference game though. I'd go Russell, but it's tough because green bay is going to be out for blood after last year's collapse, and I expect Seattle to be 0-2 by Monday. So, you should think about that. Bradford could well be the better pick here.

The Cowboys and Eagles are in the same division. My wording was all funky but that's what I was referencing.

Anyway, I actually didn't make the right choice in starting Bradford over Wilson last week. Russ scored more points on my bench thanks to Bradford's game-ending INT, but I was still able to win thanks mostly to Carlos Hyde.

I also hadn't thought of the revenge angle in the SEA@GB game. That's a good point you bring up.

Decisions, decisions..

And how about the Chiefs D? I know pretty much everyone here drafted them.

This is looking like the best matchup our defense has had against Denver since Manning came to town, but I've been burned one too many times.

The homer in me says start the Chiefs but the battered fan in me says hit the waiver wire.

Jesus. I'm a dumbass. I was thinking rams. Lol, wow! I'd go Bradford in a heartbeat because I think green bay is going to stomp a mudhole in Seattle. Just my 2 cents.

I didn't get them at all. I wouldn't play them this week though. Battered fan. I mean, I almost expect us to wipe our asses with them, but until I see it...plus we're not at full strength worth smith out.

I dropped them, with hopes to pick them up after Denver and Green Bay. I don't believe either of those two games will be low scoring and both are against superior QB's, regardless of Manning's struggles.

Someone picked them up surprisingly, but I bet they drop them after those two weeks. Surprising since noone else in the league is a Chiefs fan.

I picked up Indianapolis, which is a bit of a gamble but they do have a pretty easy schedule I think... Jets Tennessee Jax. Indy appears to focusing on the run which also keep the scoring down a bit I think. My hope is KC puts a licking on Denver and the Denver D gets dropped, since they also have a good schedule after KC.

Bradford, if only for volume of plays. I'm not high on Wilson, especially when he is bottled up and can't add running yards.
