Late night bullshit: Nicest thing you did for someone today.
We spend a lot of time on this forum being big jerks for largely no reason.
This is a (perhaps futile) attempt to change that for a single thread. Do something nice for somebody today, then come here to brag about it. It is socially unacceptable, perhaps, to brag about something nice you've done. Nobody wants to come across as holier-than-thou. But take this thread in the manner its intended: to genuinely celebrate altruism. ONE RULE: Doing something nice for your spouse/girlfriend/family member/best friends doesn't count. Or it can. It just won't count as much. I know that in the stone cold demeanors most of you exhibit on this board, there are some big, beating hearts that appreciate the brighter sides of humanity, rather than just ruminating in the sterile coldness of the Internet's disregard for decency. Do the thread a favor and try to rep the really good ones, or at least the ones that mean the most to you. I'll start: I was walking out of Dillon's today, and an elderly lady asked me to load her shopping cart into her car for her. Rather than be offended that I was essentially being drafted to do a chore for somebody I didn't know, I loaded the cart -- all six or seven bags. A couple of them were genuinely heavy, and she did have some laundry detergent, so. Take it from here, folks. |
