Kareem Hunt

With all the publicity he gotten i still think he's underrated.

He showed more power against Denver and now he is showing some Barry Sanders. If he was in an offense with less weapons he would be leading the league in rushing and probably in total yards from scrimmage.

So good.

He is durable and reliable.

Got our QB
Got our RB
Got our TE
Got several WRs

Yummy

He's a human gyroscope. I mentioned that in the short touchdown that he got (I think) three weeks ago where he was on the sideline and some dude threw himself against him. I have no idea how he didn't go out of bounds, and not only that, but his path didn't even change. He just kept going and scored.

I agree. No need to resign him. Enjoy him for the next 2 years then find another. Mahomes is going to earn the biggest contract in NFL history when his time comes and RB is a position you can and should go cheap in.

It seems like Hunt has this way of just sloughing off direct hits - either by angling his body away at the last minute - or by angling so that when he does take the hit, the tackler just gets deflected downward (which also is a result of his incredible strength and low center of gravity).

It's really uncanny to watch. Spencer Ware is a fine back. But I see so many times he gets stuffed where I think Hunt would have shaken it off - even though it's still not completely obvious to me how Hunt is doing it.

That's a great description! I love human gyroscope.

Hate to start talking about replacing this guy already, he is the perfect mix of hard running hammer and explosive playmaker... but when the day comes that he wants a megadeal, yeah we'll probably have to part ways

Mahomes, Hill and Kelce are ultimately more important... those are the 3 must keeps IMO

He gets hit a ton and with a lot of force.

He's also gonna have the resume of a $14 million/season running-back.

I just don't see how you do it unless we get a LOT better at drafting defense. And I don't mean nice enough role players - we'd need to draft at least one Pro Bowl caliber defender and have him on a rookie deal for the duration of the Hunt extension to make that feasible, IMO.

I'd like to keep him - sure. But I don't see a way to maintain any sort of defense, a quality OL with at least a little veteran stability, Mahomes, Hill, Hunt and Kelce. You can scrimp and save here and there, but 'give him Watkins' money' isn't gonna work when Mahomes is making more than any other player in football.

It's going to be a very different world then. I don't see a way to keep Hunt in it. With his running style, it may not be wise either way.

Even with last year, I wasn't super sold on him. I knew he was good but there are plenty of good running backs. This year I've seen him just wreck people. He runs hard, aggressive, with power and elusiveness. He's damn good and better than I thought.

I figured he was something in the 6-8 range in terms of overall runningbacks.

And for a couple weeks to start the year, I didn't see a need to re-evaluate. But damn, he looked amazing yesterday.

Such a beast, but I still struggle with paying him too much. Reid has shown the ability to find and develop offensive weapons in the mid-late rounds. As violent as he runs, I’d be very cautious about what money you spend on him.

Absolutely love what he brings to this offense though.

Really? Marginalizing Hunt 7 games into his second season?

This kid is special.

He punishes people.

He's not going anywhere, anytime soon.

I honestly dont see it as marginalizing, we're talking about the Reigning Rushing Champ

Just trying to look ahead and figure out who the true sacred cow triplets are... and in todays league, I'm forced to part with my RB when it comes down to it
