Bullshit, I said CM lost. My only comment/argument is that FM should have been able to put him away a lot earlier than the 10th. And FM learned that he better never try his hand at MMA, he'll get killed, he just doesn't have the those extra skills it takes to fight at the MMA level of combat sports. But FM has that luxury.

Floyd doesn't care about MMA. Conor invited himself into the boxing arena against one of the all time greats, and the obvious happened.

Floyd could have put him away sooner. Don't get things mixed up.

While he was indeed gassed (lesson learned), he came out looking pretty decent. Perhaps he was like the rest of us and only planned for the maximum of 3-4 rounds, no matter who won (so why condition and pace for 12 rounds).
As for his damage, lord knows few, if any, MMA fights can be in the octagon for that long and not have lost a few quarts of blood. I think CM really likes the softness of the gloves boxes enjoy. They are heavier, and that takes its toll, but comparatively they make each punch less impact.

FM took 10 rounds to beat an MMA fighter who was limited to only one of the tools in his tool chest.

Now let's see if FM mans-up and steps into another sport. I bet not... I think all boxers are starting to learn their limitations so it's best they stick with just boxing.

why would a 40 year old boxing legend decide to take up MMA?

Mcgregor did not belong in a boxing ring, as anyone could see. In fact, I think you could probably line up lots of boxers who are in their prime in his weight class and he'd lose to them. Mayweather laid back and let him beat himself, but other fighters who would attack would beat him too. He is not technically proficient at boxing.

A street brawler isn't going to beat a trained boxer and an MMA fighter would be in boxing instead if they could be.

It was never a contest and the hemming and hawing is just about MMA fans being upset that their sport didn't show up boxing like they had hoped.

Sure. But didn't you say slow and steady is FM's way? If not you, somebody closer to boxing did. And perhaps FM didn't want to try to end it in the first few rounds because if he pushes (not his style) maybe he makes a mistake and gets rocked. So letting CM wear out (because he's conditioned differently) might be different that carrying him, it might just be nothing more than letting him wear out.

Perhaps that style is why I suspect MMA might relegate boxing to the higher channels and one only purists watch. The world will watch Olympic boxing since the format there seems to suggest a faster pace is required.

It`s funny. Must be a millenial thing. My 25 year old son has been saying how great CM did and that FM would be killed in a street fight or MMA with Connor.........

I responded with: Street fights dont pay $100 million dollars and FM is a BOXER and last night was a BOXING match. An old retired 40 year old man soundly whipped a younger CM. Those that say it was close up to the 10th haven`t watched a whole lot of boxing. FM was playing cat and mouse and nursing the fight along. He was never hurt or threatened and CM ran out of gas around the 7th. FM being an old wiley fox waited until CM was out of gas and no longer a threat and then soundly whipped him like a surgeon. The fight was never close. And again, this was a 40 year old that has sat on the couch for 2 years.
