RCA to VGA
I have an older DVD player with RCA audio/video outputs. I also have an older PC monitor (spares laying around).

I would like to connect the video out of the DVD to the VGA monitor to view the movie. I have read that a simple cable will not do this, but an active converter is needed to do this. Can anybody recommend such a box? Thanks.

It should work to display the video, but you won't have audio. You'll need something separate for that.

This looks like it would work but it won't.

I'm not sure if there's a solution for this issue.

This will work but it's not worth $70 dollars, IMO. You can purchase a 24" LED/LCD for a little more than $125 these days.
