Chiefs Alternate History Madden Franchise: Can Joe Montana take KC back to the SB?

Return of Mals: Joe Montana Edition

Downloaded a 1993 NFL Roster updated for Madden 17 last night.

All teams and players are edited to reflect their 1993 counterparts. Steve Young, Troy Aikman, Warren Moon and JOE MONTANA are all on this roster along with every other starter AND backup from 1993. This roster is so accurate it has Andre Ware on the Lions. Titans serve as the Oilers, Texans and Jags are full of generic assholes.

Chiefs have Joe, Marcus, DT, Smith, Carter, etc. Whoever did this is a genious and even got the player equipment right. Faces are computer-generated and coaches are wrong, but can't have everything.

The goal: get the Chiefs back in the SB with Montana at starting QB. Franchise will run until Joe retires. Not allowed to switch QBs.

LET'S DO THIS!

I shouldn't have signed Mark Collins, though, given the fact that Hasty is now available. And David Brandon was an awful signing.

Sorry Lamar, but kiss my ring.

Hoss spent two years being my bitch, including an AFCCG loss, and losing to Bono not once but TWICE and then got dumped.

No spoilers yet but the Raiders drafted TWO QBs.

Not going to tell you til I get the whole draft class done, but here's a hint:

My first round pick was a sixth-rounder IRL.

The Chiefs also made a couple of stellar trades.

Regardless of who I pick there is no glitching or gaming the system. I just stick to my draft board, and edit players after according to OVR, which you don't see until after you pick someone.

1995 FREE AGENCY AND DRAFT DUMP

A lot of great players hit free agency, but the Chiefs have very little cap room.

The Chiefs do get some cheap deals done, trying to fill Marcus Allen's hole.

Quote:
80 OVR HB Herschel Walker - 1 year, 1.05m
72 OVR HB Glyn Milburn - 3 years, 4.02m
The Broncos go nuts, and I mean NUTS

Quote:
87 OVR DT Chester McGlockton, 5 years, 60.7m
87 OVR CB Rod Woodson, 1 year, 13m
85 OVR RT Siupeli Malamala, 4 years, 26m
78 OVR WR Tom Waddle, 3 years, 17.4m
74 OVR CB Steve Israel, 3 years, 14.7m
Denver is gunning for the Chiefs in the AFC West.

JJ Birden goes to CAR, Dan Saleamua to HOU

Other notable FA signings:

Quote:
87 OVR C Frank Winters, Dolphins

83 OVR CB Terrell Buckley, Jags
83 OVR OLB Mo Lewis, Jags
78 OVR QB Steve Beuerlein, Jags

85 OVR DE Charles Haley, Patriots

87 OVR QB Jim Kelly, Ravens,

85 OVR CB James Hasty, Redskins
83 OVR FS Brock Marion, Redskins
82 OVR TE Jay Novacek, Redskins

And the crowning jewels of FA:

93 OVR HB Chris Warren, Texans
81 OVR WR Alvin Harper, Texans
THE 1995 DRAFT

THE TOP 10

Quote:
1. WR Frank Sanders, WAS
2. DT Warren Sapp, CIN
3. QB Steve McNair, TB
4. DE Kevin Carter, NYJ
5. WR Antonio Freeman, CLE
6. FS Orlando Thomas, NO
7, CB Ty Law, SDG
8. CB Bobby Taylor, ARI
9. WR Joey Galloway, NE
10. LT Tony Boselli, CHI
THE CHIEFS DRAFT

Quote:
1.32 HB Terrell Davis
2.64 Chiefs trade their pick to Seattle for a 3rd, 4th and 6th
3.32 DE Mike Mamula
4.27 WR JJ Stokes
4.32 MLB Bryan Schwartz
5.32 OLB Mark Fields
6.32 HB Rodney Thomas
7.2 QB Stoney Case
7.10 FS Jerry Wilson

You might be asking what happened to that other third-round pick, and here is what happened:
Spoiler!
Fantastic draft for the Chiefs, as they get Davis in the first and OLB Mark Fields was a huge late round gem. JJ Stokes could be a decent WR. The depth chart is logjammed at RB now. We'll see if TD can stay healthy.

DRAFT NOTES

Quote:
Ty Law will be nasty in San Diego, and they also picked Tamarick Vanover.

The Raiders addressed their QB situation by picking Kerry Collins AND Kordell Stewart. They also got Napoleon Kaufman.

OLB Derrick Brooks to the Seahawks.

The Bengals killed the drafted with DT Warren Sapp and HB Curtis Martin.

The Browns continue to kill it with MLB Ted Johnson, WR Antonio Freeman, CB Corey Fuller and C Dave Wolabaugh.

The Cardinals got CB Bobby Taylor, DE Hugh Douglas and LT Blake Brockermeyer.

QB Rob Johnson is the heir apparent to Warren Moon.

The steal of the draft was RG Adam Timmerman to the Colts in the 6th.
Edited 110 rookies and we're good to go to 1995.

Steve Bono to the Jags in Week 1 preseason for 1.7M. Roast in hell, jerk.

I dumped John Alt in the offseason and traded for Russ Freeman.

I had an excellent draft and will start TD, Mark Fields, Rob Fredrickson, Sam Adams, Ted Washington and Marquez Pope. Keith Cash and Willie Davis are still young, neither is Charles Mincy.

The secondary and OL are a bit old and I need to find a QBOTF but this team isn't that old.

Good thing I saved all my money because Neil Smith's contract is coming up.
