Gordon is consistently putting the ball in the air now instead of ground balls every time. That can't be coincidence. He must have changed something that is hopefully repeatable and permanent.

He seems to have fixed his bat path by changing the position of his bat as he sets up his swing.

It's amazing what small adjustments can make. The best sign is that he isn't just punishing mistakes on the inner half. He's hitting the bat hard on pitches that are away as well.

Side note - is Merrifield legit or is this one of those weird Bo Hart things where he falls apart in a week? Guy is like a poor man's Pedroia. Great bat control and hits sharp doubles seemingly on a whim.
I thought that last year and it seemed justified when he slumped and got send back down. To his credit, Merrifield worked on things in Omaha, made adjustments, and was solid upon his return to the majors.

He has kept it up this year. We've seen him display an ability to adjust. The biggest positive sign this season is the increased power. He has hit for enough power to force opposing pitchers to work him more carefully, and he has taken walks as a result.

I think he can consistently deliver a .750ish OPS with a solid average (.280) while playing above-average defense at 2B. That's a pretty good player, especially at the league minimum.

seems like his swing is more 'one-handed' than usual like he's releasing his other hand differently or something

That can help you hit the inside half of the baseball, of course you want to have both hands on the bat at impact.
