I was on an absolute tear reading in January and February, but Mass Effect 3 killed that dead in March. 3 books total this month so far. That's it.

Right now I'm doing a re-read of Adrian Tchaikovsky's Shadows of the Apt series (I read the first 5 or 6 early last year, have a couple more ready to go), and listening to various and sundry audiobooks (right now it's Larry Correia's Spellbound - I love his Grimnoir books).

****. I'm so depressed that it takes me so long to read books.

I want to read so many, but the actual reading part is a bottle neck.

I hear about 10 books I want to read by the time I finish one.

Getting ready to read Crucible of Gold the latest Temeraire book by Naomi Novak. They are not only good stories they are historically accurate (minus the dragons).

One of my favorite books is the Exorcist.

Anyone else read that book?

I read the first two or three of those, then I lost interest. I'll probably come back to it when the series is finished. I have a real problem maintaining interest with serial publication (I'm struggling with Song of Ice and Fire, which is one of my favorite series of all time). I want to know that I can sit down and read the complete body of work at a time and not have to wait 2 years for another series and get out of the groove.

I like series, I just want them to already be done when I start reading them. This has been a problem for me for The Dark Tower, Wheel of Time, and now Song of Ice and Fire.

Dark Tower took forever! Another series that took a long time was the Earth Children series by Jean Aul. The final one took forever to come out and IMO was a bit of a letdown.

Love audiobooks. I commute from Lawrence to Leawood every weekday. Audiobooks make the commute tolerable. I have audible.com at the ready to buy audiobooks, and you can borrow from the Kansas Public Library System. I have access to an audiobook sharing site as well, but I typically buy/legally borrow.

Guys, I've made a book thread for specifically sci-fi and fantasy books in the Media Center. Please check it out if you like those genres.

Also Briancase, I've tried audio books. Just can't pay attention. Even when I'm driving.

Just began Confederacy of Dunces. I've had that book for a couple years, but lost it... then found it when I was packing shit from my old place and moving it into my new place.

I tried that several times, my problem is my mind will think about other things before i realize i haven't been paying attention.

So i read them and get much more out of it. Anyone else like that?
