Wouldn't the conspiracy theories people say eight hours equal eight games?

I still say four games so the NFL can save some face. It should be zero games. The man was absolved. But the shield's image must be upheld.

I never actually read anything about the Jimmy Smith situation so I got curious. I’m not sure there is a pattern of abuse in Tyreek’s situation at least since he has been in the league. 4 games has to be the max and I see it being 2 unless they can prove a pattern of additional verbal abuse.

The cases are not close to the same.

Reek made a comment that was recorded without his knowledge. That recording has already been determined to be used for the purpose of blackmailing him.

The NFL is going to open a huge can of worms if they give him anything. They should close the case and move on.

Not commenting on what, if anything, Tyreek should get because of this whole situation, but I’ve thought for awhile that the NFL is going to be inviting extortion if they start penalizing players for things they say is (presumed) privacy.

You force me into the uncomfortable position of disagreeing with you here, Mr. ptlyon.

If they punish Tyreek on the basis of a surreptitiously recorded, private conversation in which he made a single remark that could be reasonably construed as a threat to withhold money from the other party, they are inviting some very big problems.

Do they really want to knock heads with the NFLPA on this immediately prior to a new CBA negotiation?

Do they really want to hire another 100 attorneys to handle the enormous number of copycat extortion attempts that will emerge once this precedent is established?

The biggest threat at this point in time is NOT Tyreek's guilt or innocence. It is the pressure being put on the NFL by other owners to suspend Tyreek because they do NOT want to face the lethal combination of Mahomes and Cheetah.

I haven't seen anything that would indicate a pattern of verbal abuse. The previous abuse was physical. He could have been silent as he punched and choked her. No one can't prove he said a thing. Threatening her this time isn't really a pattern, per se.
