An ode to toast
I love toast.

I mean, I really love it. You get it nice and hot, and then put some butter and jelly on it, and somehow it's like a little piece of heaven fell out of the sky. I think toast is underrated as one of the world's great foods.

Toast is by (my) definition sliced bread of any denomination that has been exposed to surface heat in a way that makes it golden brown and gives it crispness.

Nothing can qualify as toast unless it's sliced bread.
