I'm glad we got peak Wade. I'd still like to see what we could have done this year with slightly-past-peak-Wade.

Threw 48 flipping pitches. That's after throwing a million pitches in game 5 last week. They're basically going to burn him out for nothing. I get it's the playoffs, but it's making Trey Hillman look soft. I just can't imagine this kind of strategy is sustainable.

They aren't going to re-sign him so its the same situation as last year with Chapman.

Cleveland and the Astros are really having themselves a nuclear arms race to see who the biggest choker is.

Baseball is a fickle game. Some of our most shitty teams in the 2000-2015 era were in 2006/2011 and we won the WS.

2005 we may have had the best team of that era and didn't even make it to the NLCS even after Pujols gave Houston a devastating loss at home as they were one strike away from winning the series.

For the Royals what if that WC game that late hit down the LF line is foul?

There aren't really any holes in the Cubs' pen. So it'd make sense to burn through one of your options for next year.

Similarly, I always wonder how the 2013 Royals would have done in the playoffs with that September rotation.

Shields, Santana, Peak Guthrie, Underscouted Duffy, and 102 Ventura. David Ortiz said he wanted nothing to do with that rotation in September.

Except series after series the Royals kept coming up with clutch hitting when they needed it. Houston and Cleveland are talented teams that have both proven they don’t respond well when faced with adversity.

Or about 10 other things in that game... the bad pitch out, a chopper that didn't travel 20 feet but scored Hosmer, if Dyson slides past 3rd (which he about did), etc.... when the best teams barely win 60% of the time, back to back World Series appearances and a championship is pretty amazing no matter how good of a team.

Mercy rule for the Cubs?

7 runs in 2 1/3 innings.

Pretty pathetic showing from the Cubs offense save for 1 game all postseason. Packing your bags yet Mallee?
