I didn't believe that either, but there was evidence. When your GM acts in a cheap manner, it's logical to suspect that he is hamstrung by cheap ownership. Otherwise, that GM would just be a complete moron with no instinct for self-preservation.

I think Clark, knowing what he knows now about how toxic Pioli was/is, felt that he had to open up the vault right away. If he ****ed around in negotiations Reid (or anyone he was talking with for that matter) was gonna get away. I mean, the dollar figure for a top flight coach is pretty well established, so why not get right to it?

Clark was called cheap because he chose to rebuild through the draft and that way doesn't demand a high payroll...it also NEEDED to be done. Someone has been saying these things for years... |
