Television contracts mandate 20 commercial breaks a game with exactly ten per half.
Five of those are inescapable: End of Q1, 2 minute warning Q2, halftime, end of Q3, final 2 minute warning. So there "has" to be eight additional breaks per half.

Very interesting...I'd like to see the link to that information. I know the NFL doesnt track penalties and I've always wanted a resource where I could see this data.

I think that decision has already been made for us.
I wonder what the betting line is for whether a game this season will have the highest score ever by one team or both teams. Are the records still 73 points and 113 points? I know they were back when I tracked it, but maybe they were broken a dozen or so times last season.
