Pretty much. The only time there should be commericals is during an injury, instant replay (debatable), end of quarters and half-time. The change of possession commercial breaks really tick me off along with the scheduled TV timeouts.

Yes, after punts and kickoffs. Sometimes they don't after punts but alot of times they do.

Television contracts mandate 20 commercial breaks a game with exactly ten per half.

Five of those are inescapable: End of Q1, 2 minute warning Q2, halftime, end of Q3, final 2 minute warning.

So there "has" to be eight additional breaks per half.

Very interesting...I'd like to see the link to that information. I know the NFL doesnt track penalties and I've always wanted a resource where I could see this data.

I wonder what the betting line is for whether a game this season will have the highest score ever by one team or both teams. Are the records still 73 points and 113 points? I know they were back when I tracked it, but maybe they were broken a dozen or so times last season.
