Ad Blockers

Ok I have a small project I just finished up for a client and wanted to test it here.

First a poll to see who has an adblocker installed and second a test to see if you can see the text at the top of the page asking you to Whitelist ChiefsPlanet so I have money to buy drinks pay for the server.

So, what say you?

That explains why some people are getting killed by these lately and others have no clue what you guys are talking about.

I actually was able to replicate the problem myself by previewing the ads in our Adsense control panel(which is on Google's site). That's how I knew it was completely unrelated to CP itself. The bitch is that when I find a bad ad using that method, I have to click the block button SUPER FAST or the damn thing redirects me out of Adsense before I can. Slowly but surely I am getting them all, obviously the one that is killing you hasn't been found yet.
I have two. One is some kind of "Good Housekeeping" ad. Not that it says that, it's like some kind of housewife looking thing. I have been looking for a good fudge recipe to make chocolate covered roasted coffee beans so that may be it. The other is an older guy pushing a political/economics blog. That could be from doing background research on just about any DC thread.

Cool, I just found and blocked another one. If you get a sec, see if one cleared from FF.

I have to go through some 70k ads to "review" each one. I am about 2% through them now.

I unchecked that "warning" box and now it's not redirecting at all. I'll come back and post here if/when it happens.

Well I am not getting any redirects at all. I am using Firefox, no ad blocker, no "ad blocker message" at the top of the page, I can see the (unobtrusive) ads at the bottom and everything appears to be working just fine.

I may have finally gotten all of them blocked or Google finally fixed their crap. I'll keep plugging away just in case though.

I pretty much strictly use my iPhone 5c to browse CP on safari and every single time I refresh a page, post a reply, load a thread or anything...it redirects me to other webpages.

Every time.

It makes it almost impossible to use the site anymore

It's doing this to me every time I switch threads or open a new page. I'm on my work desktop using Chrome with Ad-Blocker disabled.

But I have to agree, it's basically rendering the site un-usable. So annoying.

I blocked 3 more just now so you may be ok.

Google has FINALLY acknowledged the issue and have promised a fix sometime in the next day.

Thanks!

It "should" be fixed now but you may want to give it a day just in case. I'll keep this thread updated.

I just had to re-enable AdBlock. Every time I would come to CP, I would get redirected to something called Open Download Manager. Running Firefox.
