2015 Predictions For Chris Conley?
Was reading and figured I'd share. Beat writer Terez Paylor says WR Chris Conley has been the biggest standout in rookie camp and headed the list of impressive camp stand outs.
1. "WR Chris Conley: The Chiefs’ third-round pick was the most athletic player on the field all three days. No one could keep up with him. He has the speed and movement skills to create separation and threaten teams vertically. This means little right now, however. Because many a man has killed it during rookie camp and OTAs, only to shrink when the pads come on. But this was a strong start for Conley." http://www.kansascity.com/sports/spt...e21582834.html What do you guys expect from Conley? Can he beat out Wilson? If so what kind of numbers will he produce? When asked if Conley could produce a 4 TD, 500 yard season in 2015 Paylor gave some facts on Andy Reid's history of his best rookie wideout numbers. Which were as follows... "Reid has only had two rookie wide receivers accomplish this feat. Reggie Brown did it in 2005 (43 catches, 571 yards, four touchdowns) and Jeremy Maclin did it in 2009 (56 catches, 773 yards and four touchdowns). DeSean jackson had enough yards (912) in 2008 but only scored two touchdowns." Can Conley win the #2 starting job and surpass these numbers? For some reason I feel he can. With Maclin getting the main attention of opposing defenses I'm excited to see what Conley can do. Thoughts and predictions? I will go out on a limb and say 6 TDs and 650 yards...as I like him as a red zone target. I think the Chiefs will be hard pressed to have a 1000 yd WR because Smith will spread it around but I have faith in Conley being a productive contributor. |

I'm still seeing a heavy rotation at WR, other than Maclin. If however Conley does win the WR2 spot and plays significant snaps? Yeah, he can get close to the numbers you suggest in the OP. Maclin, Kelce, and JC will garner a lot of attention... and the QB is one to find the open man regardless of status.

Conley was my favorite draft pick
He has elite upside imo starting opposite of Maclin by the end of the season Big enough to win the 50/50 fast enough to go deep strong enough to block and get off jam catches the ball WITH HIS HANDS

Learning the playbook will have a lot to do with it.
OL protection for Smith to find someone other than the "OH ****" route will have a lot to do with it. Catching the mother****ing ball, especially in TC and in early games will have a lot to do with it. Can he? **** yeah. Will he? I'm going with 30/70 for 500/4. |

300 catches 5,000 yards and 67 TDs. Good enough?

I agree with Cave. Around 350 yards and 2 TDs.

He won't break 500 yards.

I could see him breaking 500 yards. Assuming he stays healthy and plays all season, he only needs to average slightly over 30 yards per game to do so.
I do, however, have to laugh at the people talking about his ability to go up and make the catch. When has that ever mattered for Alex? |
