Ex Machina

I took the day off yesterday and treated myself to a viewing of this at the Cinetopia.

VERY good movie, touches great through most of it, though the end fails a little bit.

For the first 85-90% of the movie, It was a slow burn, moving toward what i felt would be a big twist or surprise. It had that type of feeling to it, as if just around the corner you were going to be stood on your head. The acting was well-matched (I'm starting to really like Isaacs. it helps that he reminds me of the guy from New Girl). The Eva character was great. The scenery was beautiful. It just felt like such a ride.

The end was a bit of a letdown, though. Like the whole movie was prime rib, and it ended with spaghetti-os.

Would I recommend it? yeah. See it in the theater. it really is a theater movie. but know that there's not a great payoff at the end.

It's a classic robotics film, basically. Very well done with great performances.

I don't see a lot of sci fi films, but this one is great - just saw it last night. Ending made perfect sense to me.

Nothing wrong, per se, with the ending. I just thought it was a little predictable and cliche.

The whole movie was predictable, but the actors, visuals, and score was f'ing stellar.

The ending pissed me off because that is what it was suppose to do.
Spoiler!
Good stuff.

I was so looking forward to Chapppie and ended up turning off after 30 minutes. That was after 20 minutes of thinking it had to get better.
