GO MF'ING CHICKEN GO!!!!
One of my favorite foods is chicken tenders. But only if they're done right. I like em big, fresh, hot tender and juicy. I have to give major props to a chicken joint on the Kansas side called GO CHICKEN GO. Stopped there on the way back from Olathe tonight. I"ve only been there one other time and that was a couple years ago. Their three piece chicken tenders meal is only around 8 bucks. The tenders are HUUUUGE, and fresh and juicy and just plain wonderful. The sides are OK, nothing outstanding, but the chicken RULES. And they make this stuff called G Sauce that is a funky dipping sauce. It's hard to describe, it's like salsa for chicken strips. It's hot but not stupid hot. It would also be great on scrambled eggs or over a chicken burrito. GO CHICKEN GO should go more over towards Eastern Jackson County. They'd kick KFC's ass, and would give Stroud's a run for their money on chicken tenders. I've had Gus' Famous Chicken Tenders too, and Go Chicken Go kicks their ass all over the parking lot. Go....Chicken.....GO. Any of you CPers fans?

Most folks I know always say their koolaid drinking days ended with the first taste of an ice cold carbonated beverage. I know mind did along with my kids.

I love go chicken qo but I never ate the innards. We always ate lunch there when working around Rockhurst College. Livers i like but gizzards are like eating chunks out of the cats sand pile. Livers dont set well when its 90 and humid and you work outdoors.

Is it me or has KFC changed their recipe or gotten less quality ingredientes in the last few years? It's still okay but tastes noticeably worse than say 5-10 years ago.
Thanks for the gcg recommendation |

The problem I have with eating gizzards, is because they kind of taste like gizzards.

Someone here recommended it a year or two ago, and I passed the recommendation on. They said the chicken was OK, but the sides sucked. Grandma in particular was not enchanted. I still wish there was someone here who has been to Southern here in St.L. That place transcends. Everything they offer, I think 'I wish I knew how they did it.' Their hottest sauce offering might be the hottest thing I've eaten in a restaurant, but it's also addictive. It's not straight heat because it's chicken fat and cooking oil and I'm sure there's some sugar and citrus in there as well. Banana pudding for dessert. Fried green tomatoes. Collard greens. Maple Glazed Squash. They put something in their black eyed peas I don't think I've even tasted before, but it's perfect and comfortable. Even the crinkle fries have a seasoning on them that's unmistakebly them. And It's right next door to Pappy's, which [and don't kill me] beats the **** out of all but a handful of the best KC BBQ. Both are owned and operated by the same family. By any rights, they would be as well or better known than the string of Food Network celebrity cooks. https://www.stlsouthern.com/gallery Last edited by Baby Lee; 03-23-2017 at 05:53 PM.. |
