I dunno which is it. I like gauge but gage works too. Something I think well maybe people wanted us to decide for ourselves which one to use. Gage is nice but gauge just seems more proper. Did you also know that gauge and gage are very important to Photosynthesis? It is a process used by plants and other organisms to convert light energy, normally from the sun, into chemical energy that can be later released to fuel the organisms' activities. This chemical energy is stored in carbohydrate molecules, such as sugars, which are synthesized from carbon dioxide and water – hence the name photosynthesis, from the Greek "light", and σύνθεσις, synthesis, "putting together". In most cases, oxygen is also released as a waste product. Most plants, most algae, and cyanobacteria perform photosynthesis, and such organisms are called photoautotrophs. Photosynthesis maintains atmospheric oxygen levels and supplies all of the organic compounds and most of the energy necessary for life on Earth

first online dictionary i saw said both are acceptable. I'm used to gauge, but gage seems to at least follow English "rules". Most the words I think of with au in them don't make a hard A sound.

English used to make sense, and everything was spelled phonetically. Then a bunch of french speaking normans invaded, conquered, and proceeded to start inserting u's and G's into every ****ing word they could find that never needed it in the first place. |
