S101 is Mexican owned, Chinese made brand that makes fairly decent Gibson and Fender knock-offs. A buddy gave that one to me. |

I've been slowly getting back into playing guitar. My current set up is a Fender California Series Strat with Lollar pickups, and a Tone King Imperial.
And I've been wanting a nice Telecaster-style guitar in the worst way. I don't think I can resist for very long. |

I got back into playing after a 25 year hiatus. Started playing in the church band about 6 years ago then joined a local jazz band. Forgot how much I love playing. Absolutely having a blast. Got to play jazz with both my kids. Still playing with mu daughter. Gonna miss playing with her when she goes off to college in a couple of years.
Cannonball tenor ~ 8 years old, 70s vintage Indiana by Martin tenor, 70 vintage Conn bari. I did not drag out the 1920s Conn New Wonder Series 1 alto. |

My 2011 Ibanez RG 7321 (think that's the model #) Seven string with Seymour Duncan Special bridge and SD '59 neck, 1999 Gibson Les Paul Special, Epiphone Les Paul, and Rogue acoustic POS. In the other pic, my band (minus drummer) setup for an acoustic show. There you can see my Fender acoustic and my Fender Mustang 3 amp on the right side.
And yes, my bass player has a Mesa Boogie setup. That thing is a beast. He could play Sprint Center with it.

So Dinny, or any other upright players out there: know anything about Deuce bridges?
http://www.deucebridges.com/ Haven't read a bad review yet, or seen anyone selling theirs.

Just bought a '88 MIJ Strat for $200. It needs a ton of work but I'm an ex-carpenter so it's nothing I don't think I can handle. These run in the $600-$700 range for a lefty.
So stoked to get started on it, not sure what color I'll repaint it in - any ideas? I was thinking candy apple red or a metallic black.

If Alder, I'm partial to Seafoam Green or Sonic Blue. I just think those colors rock. If it's Ash, then Mary Kay. I played a 1993 Custom Shop Fender Strat with a Mary Kay finish and Fat '54's and man, I regret not pulling the trigger to this day. Here's one of my Strat's. It's a 1993 Custom Shop in a custom color (which didn't even have a name!). It's got a 10"-16" Compound Radius, Texas Special's, a Gotoh bridge and vintage tuners. I don't use it that much but it can be heard on shows like Pawn Stars, The Voice, Counting Cars and many more. It's a killer SRV sounding Strat. |
