Seahawks do an amazing job of replacing defensive talent and keep playing at a high level. If KC doesn’t have a roster full of all pros their D is dead last.

Losers mentality.

We don’t need Seattle to have nothing to play for. We need our team to play like they have everything to play for.

Chargers beat Seattle, Pittsburgh and us on the road. If the Chiefs can’t win a game they know they have to have, then they don’t deserve the division or the 1 seed over the Chargers.

The funny part about the Seahawks is they basically run a 2018 form of Martyball with Brian Schottenheimer. It was an outdated offense when everybody had huge pluggers in the front 7 to stop the run in the early/mid 2000s. Now that this copy cat league all went to pass and front 7s got smaller/faster/stronger, Martyball now has value. And they Seahawks offense is a unique matchup as their style of play in the NFL is the complete outlier. Chiefs are one of the many teams not built in todays game to stop Martyball. Which is odd because if any franchise should know Martyball it should be the Chiefs. And if ANY defensive coordinator should know Martyball it's Sutton BECAUSE HE WENT AGAINST IT EVERY SINGLE DAY WHEN HE WAS A JETS COACH under Rex Ryan.

And yet, I'm sure they will still find a way to screw this up.

One positive is this game is being played Sunday night instead of Christmas Eve. Santa shouldn't have to face drunk pissed off chief fans.

It's an interesting point you make; and I think it's worth applying it in a broader context. The switch from almost universal 4 man defensive fronts to 3-4 was to take advantage of undervalued physical types/skills. Now that half the teams run a 3-4 that's not really an advantage anymore. It's kind of like when the Royals decided to value contact, speed, and defense. Everybody was valuing the high strike-out home run hitters and we went to two WS in a row with the opposite skill sets.

The NFL is a copycat league; but in order to get ahead of the curve you have to find the things that nobody else is doing and DO THAT. We're a good example on offense, Reid is constantly pushing the envelope. We need to find a defensive mind that can mirror that. Or shit, I'd settle for being able to teach and coach simple schematic responsibilities.

Looks like once against the 9ers.
Faiders had not scored more than 23 points in a game when they played us.

They scored 33 on our shit defense.

I think it's going to take a team with a huge set of stones to target player types on defense that are currently undervalued or considered an archaic skill set. Or maybe find a value or statistic that completely goes against the grain of the current trends and scheme your defense around that. A defensive look that nobody else is doing today.

It's similar to the NBA. Big huge centers that are block chasers and rebounders almost have no value because it's all about getting back on defense and going out and defending at the perimeter. Huge stiffs are useless. Same thing with todays NFL. Williams Wall like the Vikings had in the mid 2000s isnt a thing anymore. Big huge MLBer pluggers are a completely useless body type to have. You basically have to be a safety and convert to LBer when you make the jump to the NFL to have a ton of value. Or be a completely freak of nature at LBer. (run like a HB/WR) Which is like 1% of the college prospects out there lol.

Watching Hags v 49ers now. Hags down 7-6. I know they like to run, but their WRs vs. Chiefs secondary scare me. Praying and hoping the 2016 Berry shows up next Sunday. Only way the Chiefs overcome the Hags and Bob Sutton. That or the offense will need to score on nearly every possession.

I can agree with that overall. Sadly, it already happened on Thursday.

If NE loses to PITT and LA loses to BALT, a Chiefs win in Seattle would win the division and homefield advantage throughout.
