Comcast X1
I'm considering ditching Dish Network and am looking at adding TV to my existing Comcast line-up of Internet and phone service. I presently have two HD TVs each with a Dish HD DVR connected. However, I don't have coax run throughout the house. I'm trying to figure out if the new X1 HD DVR has to communicate with the non-DVR set top box on the second TV by coax, or if it can communicate with the second set top box in some other fashion (Wi-Fi?).
I thought this would be an easy question to answer, but it apparently isn't... Here's what would be on TV1: Arris XG1 Here's what would be on TV2: Samsung RNG150N That's what I think would be on each, anyway... Any intelligence would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

We have an X1 and it will only talk to other TVs with an X1.
Plus you should know we routinely have to unplug it and plug it back in so it will communicate properly.

comcast is crap - It is the only option for me.
We have basic Cable and Internet which is oddly cheaper than regular internet - I we almost never watch the cable and I actually bought one of these so I can have HD / DVR http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Google Fiber Can't get to my neighborhood soon enough |

So, comcast is giving me this insane deal, 2 hd dvr boxes. sports package, Latino channels (gotta have the novellas) 1 year of HBO (game of thrones coming up), internet cable with blast plus 100mb line for 97 dollars a month for the first year and 107 dollars for the 2nd year per month. I was paying 56 dollars for their 100mb line a month and 107 a month for direct tv. so i ll save 60 a month this way. I twas a ****ing no brainer.
Ooh im getting their new x1 boxes as well with voice activation. |
