When a guy throws as hard as Holland does, sometimes guys are gearing up so much for the fastball they can't adjust to the breaking stuff if it's thrown (and would rather pray and take than look foolish with an awkward swing).

Also, the Royals are now 13-21 in one-run games. If they merely play to the MLB average in one-run games, you're looking at a 4 game improvement. Puts KC at 58-48, and instead of crawling up over teams for the 2nd wild card, they're a half game UP.
