However, did ESPN pay the source of the leak?

The documents are clearly stolen. Therefore, publication of any medical files are totally private and confidential and must not be made available to the public.

Did ESPN's legal department give Schefter the go-ahead to publish? Has the law changed? Perhaps.

We'll soon find out.

Even more, it's pretty ****ed up. And a bit shady of Schefter to pass it on as well, though I know it's a pretty big story to just pretend he didn't know.

He could have at least called the JPP camp and offered the chance to comment, knowing that the info would be getting out there eventually anyway.

Fireworks are dumb. Handling fireworks is even dumber.

The blame lies on the person and their parents. It's sad but who hasn't been warned, since almost birth, that fireworks are dangerous?

Go to a fireworks display, if you must. Personally, I don't need to see shit blow up in the air to appreciate the Founding Fathers, The Articles of Confederation, The Declaration of Independence, the First Continental Congress and the US Constitution.

Reporters have limits on what they can write or say to protect their legal rights. Mainstream news media use the obvious benefit of anonymous sourcing. In fact, Schefter should have relied on unnamed sources as a key to unlocking that story.

ESPN has garnered a reputation as a complete joke. What a bunch of clowns.

I believe hadn't. Deconstruct it. Your choices are "I have not lit a firework in decades before", or "I had not lit a firework in decades before".

Had not, so hadn't. Of course, almost nobody ever uses hadn't really.

If you were GOING to light fireworks tomorrow, which you have not done in decades, it would be "haven't".

I'm no master grammarian, but I think that's right.
