Yesterday we brought to you the news that a reveal of Bungie's next project, Destiny, was being hinted at for this upcoming Monday, February 18 – an augmented-reality game on the studio's website seemed to be pointing toward that date. Well, we won't have to wait quite that long. It's now been announced that Destiny will be unveiled one day earlier than we thought, on this Sunday, February 17.
An official Facebook page went live today and made that announcement as its first order of business. A Twitter account for the game has also been activated as well.
And if all that isn't enough to get you hyped, have a first look at the game's just-revealed logo as well:

You need to be doing the Vanguard Tiger Strike Playlist. This will rotate all the Strikes, and set them to LVL 24. You will earn more Vanguard Reputation & marks. Then go to the Vanguard Hunter Vendor at the big middle table in the Tower, and buy the Legendary armor that you desire. Then continue to do strikes for the marks (money), and do Vanguard Bounties for the EXP to level your new gear. The Vanguard Hunter NPC will sell you the legendary armor, and the Vanguard Armory (located in the ship bay) will sell legendary weapons. When you hit 26, there are a few of us on here that can help you with Vault of Glass.

Also don't forget to do the daily public events so you can get the strange coins or motes of light. Trade them in to Xur on the weekend for some exotic engrams, weapons or gear.

Precision kills don't show on the end of mission report for some reason, but they're still tracked. Grab a precision kill bounty the next time one shows up. It'll track fine.

what is the difference between Eagle, Viper, Wolf, and tiger anyway? Why should I start with Tiger first?

Tiger is level 24, the rest are 18, 20, and 22.

well I just tried eagle and it didn't budge me at all. This is just ridiculous. So the only way I can move up at all is to play the hardest setting now? I'm not even that good. I also, don't understand how leveling only works with equipment and not character. I just feel like I keep wasting my time when I spend a half hour on a level and get nothing for my time. It dropped three items but none of them were worth a shit.

Okay, leveling doesn't have anything to do with anything but gear. The best way to get gear (but also the slowest) is to level your vanguard reputation. You can see what rank you are with them by checking either with your class trainer or with the vanguard vendor next to the shipwright. And the reason it's the best is because it's not random. You can pick what you want. When you reach rank 2 you'll be able to buy armor (gloves and boots first, 75 vanguard marks each). That's what will increase your character's level. At rank 3 you can buy weapons, but I'd wait until you have purple gear in all 4 armor slots before you do that, because your character level is directly related to all damage, incoming and outgoing.

It's slow because gaining faction ranks is slow, and gaining marks takes time. Faction ranks you get doing bounty missions and also by doing dailies and weeklies and (I think...) random strikes like you mentioned. You get marks basically the same way, by doing playlist strikes, dailies, weeklies and one more thing, public missions, which are area missions that will spawn as you run patrols. Oh yes, forgot patrols, which are another way to gain rep.

Basically you can get one, non-random piece of equipment for yourself every week doing this. One you hit rank 3 with the vanguard you'll also receive a random reward every faction rank, which could be a weapon or piece of armor (for any class).

It seems complicated but once you figure it out it's pretty simple.

This is where farming materials on each of the planets (while you run patrols) as well as collecting ascended materials comes into play. You use that stuff to level up your purple gear, which in turn gives you more light and a higher character level.

Hopefully that all makes sense.
