Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

I saw CCI standard velocity at our Walmart for the first time in a couple years and bought a couple boxes. Bwana, you oughta have a big jug of Unique, a brick of primers, and a set of dies on the shelf just in case. You can set up bare bones to reload for a couple hundred bucks and it can be real handy. Of course you can spend thousands on reloading but don't have to.

Yeah that's something I may have to consider at some point.

Just starting to buy .223 ammo for the soon to be bought AR-15......

Is this a good deal?

223 5.56x45 Ammo 55gr FMJ Wolf Ukraine mfg. 1000 Round Case

22.5 cents/round before shipping

What are the pros and cons of polymer coated steel case??

Anything else one should know about .223 ammo?

Thanks!

First time in a year I found .22 on the shelf for realistic pricing. Maybe things are coming around a little on that front. It was Federal 550 round box for $26. Fair.

Lately I've picked up a few new toys.
Beretta Outlander 300 12ga.
Ruger Ranch Rifle .223
CZ 512 .22 mag semi auto
2 scope upgrades

and my latest, my new pocket pal I have named "Jackie Robinson". Any guesses why?

Question for the planateer gun crowd. I'm about to inherit a norinco 1911 from the early 80s I believe. It's never been shot and was given to my grandfather by a friend in the late 80s. He said shoot the hell out of it. But it could it be any sort of collectors/value able down the road? I don't want to **** up a potential hand me down for my son.

I'm not much of a collector, and could be entirely wrong. But if I was gonna guess, I'd say shoot the hell out of it.

Norinco is a Chinese manufacturer that has put out some decent stuff for the money they charge, which is pretty cheap. But as far as I know, nothing they have made is worth sitting on a shelf to just look at.

Unless there is some kind of run on Chinese made 1911s, or there is something really unique about your pistol, I say shoot the hell out of it.

Reason: backstops at indoor ranges may not be spec'd to handle (stop) harder materials (e.g. steel vs copper); outdoor ranges don't like them because they spark when hitting rocks (fire hazard).

Wolf ammo is garbage. Don't put it in an AR. In an AK, sure.
